Camp life Part 2.....

So you have all heard about our carbtastic diet and the trainings so now on to more of the highlights.......

the first night was pretty much a go to sleep night as we were all knacked after a 6am start!! joyful!!!

the 2nd night was a lot more fun as we got invited to the disco at the end of the field (music blaring and dancing in the pitch black!!). The girls attempted to teach us how to do some Armenian dancing - have to say we aren't particularly up to scratch. Defo learned that the Armenians know how to dance. Lorraine thought the best part was when they were teaching us the boob shimmy that they like to do. Apparently she was quite good but the funniest had to be Tina and Rachel!!! Hilarious!! We then went across to another part of the field with Lina (minus Tina) and lay on a sleeping bag star gazing. Lorraine saw her first shooting star before heading up to the camp fire to heat up!! The others stayed a bit longer and saw another one!! This was when Anna told us that you can only see one star (Mercury) from Yerevan!

Monday night was sports night and another disco (full of slow dances!! Rachel pulled!!). Sports day was much fun - Lorraine and Tina's team won (minus Tina with her gammy knee). Rachel was disappointed that her team was pants and came last!! She had told Lorraine she was going down at the beginning - erm think not!!! She blames the boys!! Yes you read correctly there were boys at camp!! Not that they were Guides. They were just there to help with all the construction and also because it isn't safe for a group of girls to camp alone.

Sports day included a sack race, Egg (or water should I say) and spoon race, skipping, and the best bit the teams of 3 doing over/under with a ball - not Jess's finest moment!! Keep an eye on facebook for the picture's Tina took.

Tuesday night we all got an early night as tired. Plus Tina was hurt with a frisbee (she has a magnetic knee - Lorraine had already accidentally kicked it when she tripped up!!). Well Rach and Jess stayed in Simona's tent chatting with all of them. There were fireworks but only Rach and Jess saw them as the rest couldn't be bothered fighting our way out the sleeping bags!!

Wednesday night was split..... the teams did different performances. They had to come up with a dance, a performance and a song. Most entertaining. We were then asked to judge and score them X Factor style-ee!! We then played some games with those who wanted to join us. Then Cara, Sarah and Lorraine danced with the little ones and chatted to people round the campfire whilst Rach, Jess and Tina had a pile into a smallish tent with 8 others!! toasty warm!!

Thursday (final day) had no trainings. But we had been told on the Wednesday night we had to be up and ready at 8 so that we could start a 6k hike at 9:30am. Yummy - more bread for breakfast!! We started an snails paced hike to a nice little Church in one of the villages. This consisted of us walking away from the traffic on the main road - much fun I have to say. The Church was nice and the Armenians did the Lord's prayer which was nice to hear. Then it was back to the camp site with lots of stopping and starting (to close the gaps!). We also got to stop at alittle shop and buy ice cream - awwwwwww it was tasty!!! And only 30pence!! The rest of Thursday was generally spent lazing around and talking to some of the other girls. We then had an awards ceremony at 8 where we gave the girls one of our badges. We also got a certificate to say we had participated - so nice! After dinner (10pm) we all (minus Sarah) piled into Simona's tent with them before heading over to the biggest campfire we had seen. Tried to join in with the Armenian dancing round the fire but didn't quite work that well! We then spent ages sitting around (getting closer as it got wee'er) and lying back to star gaze - more shooting stars seen. The girls were allowed to stay up until 3 but had to get up at 7:30 to pack up camp so we snuck off to bed at 1pm.......

Sweet dreams of showers for us all.

Lots of Love
Team Armenia xxxx
